The saga about the orang maloe originated in Java (Indonesia), later the saga became further spread among others. due to the migration of what are now the Balinese.
It tells of a man who was so ashamed of humanity that he chose a life of meditation in the attitude he is still known for. The Yogi Man is said to be crying for the suffering of the earth.
Yet deep down in his heart he can be happy, for he has discovered peace and happiness in himself.
Like many legends, this one also has a happy ending.
If you translate the words orang (-human) maloe (-shy) directly, you would get shy human. But here the meaning of the word maloe is modesty.
The introvert, the self-turned.
The Orang Maloe has a modest power in it.
If you look at Orang Maloe from behind, you see a human heart. This requires more explanation.
In Asia the heart is the source (of energy). So if you place an Orang Maloe in the house, conservatory or garden, its place is to the left of the entrance. The Orang Maloe will influence everything that passes it with its positive power. Negative energies will be nullified. Evil is cleansed.
If you look at it from the side, you can distinguish the two shapes in the arms:
1) You see an unborn human being, a foëtus. Symbolism of the new life, purity and cleanliness.
2) An Orang Maloe. Symbol that life progresses in a circle. No beginning, no end.
If you look at an Orang Maloe from above you can see its face (closed in its hands).
Modesty.
Power.
Heart (= energy)
New life and Circel.
What is the lesson that the Orang Maloe wants to teach us?
That through modesty, strength (keeping) the new life always starts over.
If you take good care of the Yogiman and caress him, he will take away your worries and it gives peace.
